Building on our experience & success of delivering training for DSLs over a number of years, we are delighted to offer a hugely interactive day which will not only refresh DSLs’ knowledge but also stimulate their thinking and inspire them to grow & develop the culture of safeguarding children in their settings. • receive updates on statutory guidance applying to the DSL role in education
• understand local changes in safeguarding practice & making referrals [Warks]
• reflect on the safeguarding implications of Covid-19 & lockdown
• build on learning about safeguarding practice & development shared at previous DSL training
• create a training activity to take back to staff
• further develop understanding of trauma informed education practice
• explore case studies to help them identify action to take in respect of additional areas of safeguarding
• understand the importance & benefits of reflective supervision and the challenges of unconscious bias
